Rockwall High School wrestlers make school history at state championship

ROCKWALL, TX – February 25 — Rockwall High School’s Elizabeth Duvall was crowned the 128LB champion this past weekend in Houston at the Cy-Fair ISD Berry Center, becoming the first ever girls wrestling state champ in the school’s history.

On top of that, the girls team qualified 5th to the state tournament and placed 7th in the state as a team – the highest finish in school history.

The RHS boys team had four wrestlers qualify for state, and placed 10th overall.

Going into the championship weekend, only two wrestlers from RHS boys team had placed in the top three since 2008. Jarrett Stoner and Jake Moon changed that trend for the better, with both placing in their respective weight classes.

Rockwall was one of only three schools in the 6A state tournament that had both boys and girls teams place in the top 10, Allen and College Park The Woodlands being the other two on that list.
