Open House March 21-27
ROCKWALL, TX – March 16, 2022 — Keep Music Alive is excited to announce the 8th Annual Teach Music Week being celebrated Monday, March 21 through Sunday, March 27. This annual seven-day event encourages professional music schools, such as the Rockwall School of Music, to find ways to introduce people to the joy of music.
This year the Rockwall School of Music has decided to offer free trial lessons to new students (both kids and adults). Rockwall School of Music is partnering with this international music organization which represents nearly 1,000 locations around the world in countries such as Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, Philippines, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States.
Teach Music Week is celebrated annually during the 3rd full week of March to coincide with national Music in Our Schools Month®. Anyone interested in experiencing what it’s like to learn to play a musical instrument is encouraged to contact the Rockwall School of Music to schedule your FREE TRIAL LESSON. Lessons can be scheduled anytime during the week of March 21-27 by calling 972-722-6874.
Ideal ages are 1st grade – adults.
Vincent James, co-founder of Keep Music Alive states: “We all know that the biggest hurdle to doing something is often just getting started. With Teach Music Week, we are hoping to inspire a new generation of musicians who will continue reaping the educational, therapeutic and social benefits of playing music, long after the month of March is over.”
Keep Music Alive is honored to include the Rockwall School of Music as their ambassador for the Rockwall area. As musicians and music professionals link arms across the globe, having the Rockwall community represented in this international musical event is possible, in part, because of the work that the Rockwall School of Music is doing on a daily basis. They have brought music into the lives of literally thousands of residents over the past 25 years.
The Rockwall School of Music (1920 Mims Rd. in Rockwall) will be hosting an Open House daily from March 21-27 to allow anyone in the greater Rockwall County area to stop by, tour our building, meet some teachers and to receive a trial lesson in piano, guitar, drums, voice, ukulele or bass.
“We want to do our part to inspire more children, teens and adults to begin their musical journey,” said Russ Porter, director of the Rockwall School of Music.
