Rockwall High School Stingerette Senior Showcase 2022: Carley McMillen

ROCKWALL, TX – April 20, 2022 — Carley McMillen is the daughter of Greg and Shanea McMillen. She is a three-year member of the Stingerettes, dancing her freshman year with the JV Jacket Babes while serving as a Jacket Babe Lieutenant. During her junior year, Carley was a Rockwall Dance Instructor (RDI) and assisted at Williams Middle School with the Wildcat Dancers.

Carley is a three-year Showstopper Elite Team and Hip Hop Company member. She has been a member of Tap Company and is currently on the Kick Company. Last summer she was a Top-Five Finalist for “Miss High Kick, 2021-22.”

Known for her exuberant spirit, Carley was named “Spirit Girl of the Week” in 2021 and was twice named “Stingerette of the Week.”

Unique performance experiences for her include performing with the Stingerettes in the 2019 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as part of the Spirit of America dance team as well as performing at Walt Disney World in January, 2022 and Galveston in March, 2022.

This year Carley had the honor of being on the teams that won 2022 American Dance/Drill Team “Elite Jazz National Champions”, “Team Novelty National Champions”, and “Team Open National Champions.”

In addition to Stingerettes, Carley has competed for the past seven years as a member of Dance FX Studio in Garland on the Junior and Senior teams.This year, Dance FX won American Dance/Drill Team “2022 Studio National Champions”.

As one of her senior classes, Carley chose an internship program wherein students work to gain real-world experience, explore potential career paths and learn basic workplace skills. In the summer of 2021, she worked for Texas Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center under the direction of Dr. Sanjay Bhambri. She then transitioned into her internship program at RHS. Now Carely is a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant and works with patients in assisting Dr. Bhambri.

In Fall 2022, Carley will attend Texas Tech University, majoring in Human Sciences to pursue a career in Dermatology.
