Rockwall, TX (April 14, 2023) – The Rockwall Heath High School’s Black Hawk Robotics Team #3310 competed in the 2023 First Robotics District Championship in Houston, Texas April 6-8, 2023. This tournament brought the top 80 teams in the state to Texas to compete in a UIL-sponsored competition, including school and community teams from across the state.
The team competed on the Mercury field, made it to the semi-finals and solidified the UIL 3rd place position, moving them up to 6th in the state. They were also presented with the Industrial Design award; an award that celebrates the team that demonstrates design principles striking a balance between form, function, and aesthetics. This outstanding finish qualified the team to compete in the World Championship next week, again in Houston, TX.
World Champs will bring 600 teams from across the globe to compete together on 8 different fields with the goal of winning their division and qualifying to compete in the Einstein division with the top teams from all over the world.
