The luncheon is also a time to celebrate new members and recognize outgoing AMICA leaders and members. Six new AMICA sisters were welcomed into the organization which is always exciting as new relationships are formed and ideas exchanged which builds even greater enthusiasm. While saying goodbye is always hard, AMICA does so with great appreciation to those who have served the community faithfully, including President Kathleen Leahy who was recognized for seven years with AMICA. Jocelyn Craig was formally elected President and Stephanie Fussell elected Vice President for the coming year.
In speaking about the AMICA experience, Jocelyn Craig shared the impact her experience has on her life. “Over my last 6 years in AMICA, I have made amazing friends and I have also met silent role models. Each of these women I have met, and serve with, embodied some sort of life experience that I learned and grew from. It has helped mold me into the person I am today.” says Craig. “I am grateful for the opportunity to lead such an impactful organization and serve my community.”
This year, AMICA will celebrate their 49th year as an organization! Looking forward to the year, AMICA is excitedly planning for the 2023 Denim and Diamonds Gala to be held on October 7th at Boyd Farm once again for the purpose of supporting Rockwall County non-profits serving the community.
