Dallas, TX (June 6, 2023) – Whetting appetites for this summer’s DFW Restaurant Week — the Metroplex’s largest annual culinary event — the campaign is proud to announce fundraising results for its milestone 25th anniversary in 2022. The community dined out for a cause last summer, raising $402,547 in donations benefiting charity partners the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) and Lena Pope. Top fundraisers are being honored with the annual DFW Restaurant Week Star Restaurant Awards presented by Beef Loving Texans (Texas Beef Council). The announcements come in anticipation of DFW Restaurant Week’s return in August 2023, with the mouthwatering details and an all-new website platform to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
25th ANNIVERSARY | DFW RESTAURANT WEEK | FUNDRAISING RESULTS
Nearly 100 restaurants from across the Metroplex participated in the 25th Anniversary DFW Restaurant Week in August 2022, donating approximately 20 percent of the price of each prix fixe lunch, dinner or newly added weekend brunch purchased to local charities. The campaign raised $253,970 for NTFB and $148,577 for Lena Pope, totaling $402,547. United Supermarkets raised a combined $13,200 for the charities through the special Market Street DFW Restaurant Week Recipes with Matt cookbooks, donating $10 from every purchase.
“With the money raised over the past 25 years through DFW Restaurant Week, participating diners have provided over 26 million meals to those facing hunger in North Texas,” said Trisha Cunningham, North Texas Food Bank president and CEO. “We are so appreciative of those who support the annual event including the many restaurants who make this happen. We could not do what we do without the generous support of the community.”
