A Message from Rockwall County Helping Hands

Rockwall, TX (June 5, 2023) – Dear Rockwall County Neighbor,

For so many of us summer is a time of rest, relaxation, and recreation. However, for some households, it can be a season of insecurity. The looming costs of air conditioning, school supplies, and meals for a family without the help of free and reduced lunches weigh heavy on many parent’s minds. Jamie is a student in Rockwall ISD who, just like every student in his grade, loves to play sports and hang out with his friends. But as the cost of everything continues to rise, his parents are struggling to keep up. They don’t know how they will be able to afford this upcoming school year for their children. Walking down the hallways of schools all across our county, there are hundreds of children like Jamie. Last year, Rockwall County Helping Hands served 1,100 children in Rockwall ISD that had similar stories.

Thanks to the gracious financial partnership of our neighbors, Helping Hands provided backpacks full of grade-specific school supplies, sports physicals, and boxes of food from the Mobile Food Pantry program. Would you consider sponsoring Jamie today?
