Rockwall, TX (June 1, 2023) – With Father’s Day originating at the Spokane, Washington YMCA in 1910, the YMCA organization celebrates by honoring a father from each branch as Father of the Year. JER Chilton YMCA in Rockwall is excited to announce the recipient of the 2023 Father of the Year award as Tim Herriage! Tim will be formally recognized at a celebration on June 15th at Top Golf.
Tim’s wife, Jennifer, nominated Tim sharing the important and profound role he has embraced as father saying:
“Tim is truly a remarkable and outstanding father who is deserving of the YMCA Father of the Year award. As a former marine, Tim embodies the values of accountability, integrity, honesty, and hard work, and he instills these values in his children through his coaching and guidance. Tim’s dedication to his sons is unparalleled, and he makes spending time with them a top priority even with his busy schedule as an executive at a National Lending Company.
Tim sets a wonderful example for his sons through his daily actions. He makes breakfast for the family every morning, attends all their extracurricular events, takes them camping, and teaches them valuable problem-solving skills. His hands-on approach to parenting has helped to shape his boys into intelligent, responsible, and caring young men.
What makes Tim even more remarkable is that neither of the boys is his biological son. Despite this, he has fully embraced his role as a stepfather to Alex and as an adoptive father to Will, treating them both as his own. For Tim, it was God’s plan that he love and guide his boys, and he has done so with unwavering dedication and commitment.
Overall, Tim’s selflessness, dedication, and unwavering commitment to his children make him an ideal candidate for the YMCA Father of the Year award. I am honored to nominate him for this prestigious recognition and am confident that he will continue to inspire others to be the best fathers they can be.”
In a world facing many challenges, temptations and difficulties, parenting is not for the faint of heart. Parents of all kinds, whether biological or not, can serve as role models and mentors to the youth of today. Rockwall received many nominations for devoted and honorable fathers in our community and Tim Herriage is an excellent example and representative!
