Rowlett, TX (July 10, 2023) – The Rowlett Rotary Club, a prominent community service organization, is thrilled to announce the resounding success of its July Social event. The gathering marked an important occasion for the club, as it welcomed esteemed new members Karl Stupnik and Craig Vitosh. Notable attendees included Walt McCool, Assistant Governor of District 5810, who officiated the induction ceremony for the 2023-2024 officers: President Emily Stupnik, President-Elect Michael Gallops, IOM, TDM, and Secretary Angela Kerbel. Other board members who couldn’t be present include Treasurer Russell Dunn and Sergeant at Arms Kevin Kerbel.
Recognizing the dedication and contributions of its outgoing board members, President Emily presented awards to Ken Noel and Past President Paul Attwood. Furthermore, Russell Dunn was honored with the Service Club Award, which will be formally presented at the upcoming meeting. Dave Holl, former Sergeant at Arms, and Mickey Shaw, At-Large member, were also acknowledged for their outstanding service as outgoing board members.
During the event, President Emily shared her visionary plans for the upcoming year. She expressed, “The Rowlett Rotary Club’s vision for 2023-2024 is to foster a robust and diverse community of passionate professionals driven by selfless commitment to community service and support, with a specific emphasis on student engagement and development.”
The Rowlett Rotary Club proudly sponsors the Flag program, which involves the placement of American flags in front of residences and businesses during six patriotic holidays throughout the year. Additionally, the Club sponsors students to attend Camp RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awakening), a highly regarded week-long summer camp that cultivates leadership skills for incoming high school seniors from across North Texas. This year, the Club sponsored five students to participate in the program. Moreover, the Club provides scholarships to graduating seniors at Rowlett High School and actively supports the RHS Interact program. Interact is a youth club that fosters connections among community and school members, engaging in enjoyable service projects, expanding their global awareness, and organizing at least two service initiatives annually—one benefiting their local community and another promoting international understanding.
