Two Rockwall HS, Two Rockwall-Heath HS Students Named National Merit Scholar Semifinalists, Top 1% in Country

Rockwall, TX (September 19, 2023) – The National Merit Scholarship Program has selected four Rockwall ISD students as part of the 1% in the country named National Merit Scholar Semifinalists. Congratulations to Rockwall High School students Kaley C. and James K. and Rockwall-Heath High School students Johnpaul R. and Trevor S.

More than 16,000 semifinalists have the opportunity to continue in the competition for 7,140 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million to be offered next spring. To be considered for a scholarship, semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the finalist level of the competition. About 95 percent of the semifinalists are expected to attain finalist standing, and approximately half of the finalists will win a scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title.

The National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced next spring.
