Rockwall, TX (November 17, 2023) – There is exciting news coming out of Heath High School where both the Cheer and Drill teams are preparing to travel to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City! The holiday tradition features exciting performances, exquisite floats, high flying balloons, and talented groups from across the nation viewed by millions of watchers. It is truly a highlight of the season and an honor to be selected for inclusion!
The Cheer team applied this past Spring 2023 and were selected based on their strong performance, numerous awards, and success as reigning National Champions. It has been an exceptionally busy season as the team has worked many hours to prepare for the parade, as well as upcoming competitions, on top of football season! After all that hard work and dedication, they are packed and ready to take on New York City.
“The team is beyond excited for the opportunity to represent the Heath community” says Amanda Jones, Heath cheer coach.
In addition to the upcoming performance in New York City, Heath Highsteppers have been selected for the 2nd year in a row to be guest performers in the Adolphus Dallas Holiday Parade. They will perform on December 2nd in downtown Dallas.
You can watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade on NBC beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning, November 23.
The Dallas Holiday Parade begins at 9:00 a.m. on December 2 and will be televised on CW33.
