Rockwall High School Senior Cheer Spotlight: Karys Baker

Rockwall, TX (February 5, 2024) – Karys Baker is a Senior Varsity Cheerleader at Rockwall High School. She has cheered for Rockwall ISD for 6 years and started cheering at the age of 7. She currently serves as Varsity Cheer Captain and has held several leadership roles throughout her tenure at RHS including Co-Head Cheerleader and Class Secretary. She is a 4x NCA All American, NCA Top Gun Stunt winner, and recently received an invitation to join the NCA Staff after graduation. She has been awarded Best Flyer, Most Spirited, Top Fundraiser (3x), Top Score Varsity in 2023 and Top 5 Varsity scores in 2022. Karys also excels academically as a 3 year member of the National Honor Society and 4.0 Club.

Outside of school athletics and academics, Karys is dedicated to serving her community through various local philanthropies. She is a 6 year member of the Lone Star Chapter of National Charity League where she has dedicated herself to many leadership roles and over 100 philanthropy hours. She has also served her community through RHS Cheer and NHS achieving an NCA “Go Be Great” team award and was honored for the most community service hours for her squad. Karys also cheers competitively as a Level 5 athlete at Cheer Athletics and is a 2x Summit National Champion.

Karys is the daughter of Heather Stevenson and sister to Kate Baker who is a 2018 RHS graduate. Karys is passionate about her faith and completed an invitation only leadership program through Sky Ranch where she has attended summer camp since the age of 6. She and her family attend Lakepointe Church.

Karys is interested in cheering at the collegiate level and plans to further her education at a 4 year university in the fall majoring in design, psychology or business. JFND!
