The Rockwall County Commissioners Court Appoints Ben A. Massar Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, effective March 1, 2024

Rockwall, TX-February 13, 2024 – After accepting the resignation of Judge Cathy Penn, The Rockwall County Commissioners Court has appointed Ben A. Massar to the office of Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, effective March 1, 2024.

During his tenure as an Assistant District Attorney for Galveston County, Massar handled bench and jury trial work in District Courts, County Courts, and Justice of the Peace Courts in Galveston County, where he prosecuted on behalf of the State. He also assumed the role of Chief Misdemeanor Prosecutor for two years, overseeing seven attorneys and staff in the office.

Most recently, Massar practiced as an attorney working in the Rockwall and Dallas areas, where his caseload involved criminal defense for both felonies and misdemeanors.

In addition, Massar served as President for both Rockwall and Lamar County’s Bar Associations.

Ben is also a licensed Real Estate Agent who works alongside his wife Stacy, representing clients in the sale or purchase of residential properties.

Precinct 2 Commissioner Dana Macalik commented, “Ben brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of law as a practicing attorney.” She added, “His commitment to Rockwall County makes him an outstanding choice for the position.”

Massar expressed his gratitude saying, “I am honored to have this opportunity to serve the people of Rockwall County as Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2.”
