Rockwall, TX (March 12, 2024) – Ed Conger, a dedicated educator with a distinguished background in the military and public education, has officially declared his candidacy for Rockwall School Board. With 20 years of service as a Marine Corps Infantry Officer, and roles as a math teacher, assistant principal, and principal in various school districts including Dallas ISD, Garland ISD, and Hillsboro ISD, Conger brings a wealth of experience to the table. Notably, since 2013, he has served as Superintendent of International Leadership of Texas Public Charter Schools, demonstrating his dedication to educational excellence.
“I’m running for school board because I believe that students, teachers, and taxpayers should be the primary focus in education,” said Conger. “Having raised my own children who graduated from Rockwall High School, I understand the importance of quality education in shaping the future of our community.”

“The education industry’s resistance to parental choice and Education Savings Accounts has deprived Rockwall ISD of much-needed resources,” he said. “As a board member, I will work tirelessly to secure funding from the state, relieving local taxpayers of unnecessary financial strain.”
Furthermore, Conger is committed to transparency and accountability within the school district. He opposes raising local taxes when the state is willing to increase their share and vows to prioritize responsible fiscal management.
