Rockwall, TX (March 14, 2024) – The Rockwall County Library has announced a schedule of entertaining and educational events planned for this spring that are sure to please all ages and interests.
Spring Community Festival – Thursday, March 28 – 5:30pm – 7:30pm
This fun, family-oriented resource fair offers activities and helpful information for area residents! Family activities include a petting zoo, crafts, and horses from the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Posse. Learn about the many resources available throughout our community. Attendees include:

WWII Pacific Trunk Artifact Program – Tuesday, April 30 – Time TBD
The Rockwall Library is excited to present a special program of historical interest! A presenter with the Nimitz Foundation will discuss and display the contents of a World War II footlocker. These trunks hold actual artifacts from that period including soldier clothing, currency, maps, spotting mirrors (to signal if lost), vials of sand from Iwo Jima and Omaha Beach, and more.
The program, Operation Footlocker, is presented by the National WW2 Museum in New Orleans and provides a unique hands-on opportunity to learn about the history and lessons of World War II.
Library Program Calendar:
The Rockwall County Library includes a variety of educational and informative programs as part of their regular planning schedule. The library recently hosted a dinosaur and fossil exhibition event with The Dinosaur Company and Dallas Paleontological Society. Displaying a variety of fossils and animatronic dinosaurs, and robotic devices, a large crowd of students, parents and robot and dinosaur enthusiasts enjoyed an educational, hands-on program!
