Heath, TX (July 17, 2024) – City of Heath Stage 2 water restrictions are effective immediately for all commercial and residential properties due to excessive watering. Watering with an irrigation system or manual hose sprinklers is limited to once per week per the schedule shown in the Stage 2 map at https://www.heathtx.com/water-wise/
The trigger for enacting Stage 2 is water use that exceeds 90% of the daily water supply limit of 6 million gallons for two days in a seven-day period. We notified the community last week that citizens were doing well at conserving, and that very day water spiked, unfortunately.
We urge citizens to help avoid moving to Stage 3 by conserving water at home now. Exceeding 95% usage is the trigger for moving to Stage 3.
Foundations, trees and other plantings may be watered any day with soaker or handheld hoses. No watering (including by handheld hoses or soaker hoses) may occur between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Restrictions are mandatory and violations are subject to fines.
