City of Rockwall announces treatment area for mosquito testing positive for West Nile Virus

Rockwall, TX (July 5, 2024) – The City of Rockwall has received notification that a mosquito has tested positive for West Nile Virus caught in Fox Chase Park. The City’s protocol calls for bodies of water to be treated with a larvicide and to fog the area in which positive test was found.

Fogging will take place July 8th, 10th, and 12th between the hours of 10:00p.m. and 6:00a.m. within a half-mile radius of the area where the mosquito was trapped. If you have a koi pond or do not want your property fogged (see map of spray area), please email WYoung@rockwall.com. The City will continue to monitor all traps and take appropriate action as necessary throughout the remainder of the season.
