Rockwall, TX (August 15, 2024) – Each year, JER Chilton YMCA at Rockwall hosts a catered breakfast exclusively for area educators as they prepare for a new school year. The Teachers Prayer Breakfast is a time of celebration to honor those who devote their time and careers to the future.
This year’s Teachers Prayer Breakfast held Wednesday, July 31 featured prize drawings, fellowship, and a humorous and inspired presentation by keynote speaker, Coach Rodney Webb from Rockwall-Heath High School.
As August approaches, the minds of educators, as well as parents and students, turn towards fresh starts and refocused goals. This year’s scripture theme I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me (Philippians 3:14) served to encourage educators, young and old alike, to continue to pursue their goals and their calling.
Capturing this year’s theme, Coach Rodney Webb shared reflections of honest truths to kick off a successful school year. With candor and poignant stories, Coach Webb reminded attendees of the benefit of their individual experiences, good or bad, saying, “Good coaching comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.”
With well over one hundred educators in attendance, the annual event allows an enthusiastic gathering of elected officials, community members, JER Chilton YMCA staff and board members to shower support and appreciation to educators across multiple districts and schools.
