Rockwall, TX – November 14, 2024 – Shane Hollas, owner of Maaco in Rockwall, recently helped host “Bourbon with the Boys,” an evening that raised money for the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) of Rockwall County, Texas.
“The people of the CAC do the most important and hardest work,” said Hollas, owner of Maaco in Rockwall. “They help kids going through very difficult times. The CAC are special people doing special work.”
Hollas is a member of the Blue Tie Guys, a group of ambassadors in the community who champion the mission of the CAC. The Blue Tie Guys hold events and serve as visible advocates for CAC’s mission.
The recent fundraising event took place at a local steakhouse and featured food, bourbon tastings, and raffle prizes. Hollas, along with his fellow Blue Tie Guys, raised nearly $10,000 through this event to further the CAC’s vital work. The funds raised will directly support the center’s mission and provide much-needed resources to assist children in crisis.
“I’ve volunteered for CAC events and was honored to be asked by the CAC CEO to be a founding member of the Blue Tie Guys,” explained Hollas. “As ambassadors and advocates, we spread training, messages, and warning signs of what to look for in children who may be experiencing abuse,” added Hollas.
CAC provides critical services to children and families experiencing emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. The organization’s goal is to streamline an often complex and confusing process for victims and families, with the goal of minimizing re-victimization.
“It’s a mission I’m very passionate about and want to do everything I can to help,” said Hollas.
So far this year, the Blue Tie Guys have raised over $100,000 for CAC.
