Rockwall ISD elementary teacher receives grant from Bimbo Bakeries

Rockwall, TX (November 7, 2024) – Teacher Julie Byrnes at Billie Stevenson Elementary received a $300 grant from local Bimbo Bakeries this week. The Bimbo Bakeries team, along with their mascot Osito, visited Dr. Byrnes’s classroom to present her with a check and lots of baked goods and snacks.

Mrs. Byrnes said the donation will take students on a learning journey into the world of podcasting. Students will listen, write, read, create, and produce their own podcast using a podcast dual recording system to share their knowledge and voice with an audience.
