Rockwall, TX (November 15, 2024) – J.E.R. Chilton YMCA kicked off their 2025 campaign with a staff celebration on November 10. The party atmosphere highlighted a great year of programming and a positive look towards the future. During the gathering, presenters spoke about the important work the Rockwall YMCA performs, impacting the local community and learning how the YMCA, as a non-profit, relies on the annual campaign to see these programs continue.
The Rockwall YMCA staff, primarily comprised of part-time staff, eagerly joined together for a time of fellowship followed by program presentations revealing their commitment to the YMCA mission – to put Christian values into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
In addition to the well-known youth sports program, attendees heard more about Rockwall’s special needs Angel Camp, Aquatics and Safety Around Water, summer camps, family events, seniors’ programs, and more. All of these programs being made possible through generous, tax-deductible donations to the Rockwall YMCA non-profit organization.
Board of Management member, Eric Stacey, a strong advocate of the J.E.R. Chilton YMCA, mentioned his personal passion for Safety Around Water and youth sports, but most importantly how these programs are made available to individuals regardless of their financial ability. The annual campaign helps ensure scholarships and financial assistance are available so that those in need might experience these important opportunities to grow and strengthen the health of their family.
At the conclusion of the kickoff celebration, staff had the opportunity to make their own tax-deductible commitments to the annual campaign – raising $20,000 towards the goal!
“I am incredibly grateful for our team’s commitment and generosity in giving back to our community,” says Stacie Renfro, Associate Executive Director, J.E.R. Chilton YMCA. “Their efforts make a significant difference in the lives of so many, and we couldn’t be prouder of the positive impact they create every day.”
One of the more moving moments of the kickoff gathering was the sharing of personal stories about what the Y does and means to individuals and families right here in our community.
Speaking to the staff’s enthusiasm for the YMCA mission, Renfro added, “The Y is more than just a gym, it’s a cause that we believe in with a mission that keeps us focused.”
