Grief and the Holidays: Caregiver support program offered by Meals on Wheels Senior Services

Rockwall, TX (December 2, 2024) – The holidays can be a tricky time when grief comes around. It’s never easy to know what to say to someone when they are sad and we all want to help people feel better. As a caregiver or family member, it is important to have resources to assist you during the holiday season.

Grief can be difficult but remember that it is a normal reaction. Helping someone through grief can look like many things, but most important is to honor the grieving person’s perspective and listen to them. Talking through feelings and not having them dismissed is very important. Creating new traditions to provide a new perspective and experience can also be helpful. Honoring the deceased is another way to fill the emotional void and allow their memory to live on. No matter the coping mechanism needed, acknowledging grief is important.

Join us for a compassionate and informative presentation on navigating the complexities of grief during the holiday season. Learn practical coping strategies, emotional management techniques, and ways to support loved ones who are grieving. This session will provide valuable insights and tools to help you and your family through this challenging time.
