Leadership Rockwall class engages in community service and skill building

Rockwall, TX (December 27, 2024) –  The December session of Leadership Rockwall provided participants with a unique opportunity to engage directly with local nonprofits and enhance their leadership capabilities. The day focused on service, community impact, and personal development.

The morning began at Rockwall County Helping Hands, a vital resource center dedicated to preventing homelessness and hunger by providing food, financial assistance, and health services to those in need. The class gained valuable insight into the organization’s efforts to uplift the community and learned how they can contribute to its mission.

From there, the group visited Meals on Wheels Senior Services of Rockwall County, an organization committed to addressing senior hunger and isolation by delivering nutritious meals and offering social interaction. Leadership Rockwall participants took part in delivering Sunshine Snacks—small treat bags designed to brighten seniors’ days while providing an opportunity for Meals on Wheels volunteers to check in on their well-being.

The afternoon was spent at the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce, where the class worked on developing their communication and leadership skills. Participants engaged in interactive sessions and collaborative discussions focused on enhancing their ability to lead projects and make meaningful contributions to the Rockwall community.

Leadership Rockwall continues to equip emerging leaders with the tools they need to drive positive change and foster collaboration across various sectors.

The Leadership Rockwall program, designed to develop community leaders, offers participants a deeper understanding of the key issues affecting the city of Rockwall and its residents. The class’s visit to Gene Burton Academy exemplified the program’s commitment to fostering collaboration between local leaders and the educational institutions that shape the community.
