Rockwall, TX (December 30, 2024) – Leadership Rockwall Class of 2025 is proud to announce an exciting partnership with Patriot PAWS, a local nonprofit dedicated to training and providing service dogs for disabled American veterans. This collaboration will focus on creating a sensory garden and an accessible pathway to improve the training area for service dogs and ensure a more inclusive experience for veterans and visitors alike.
The project’s centerpiece will be the sensory garden, a thoughtfully designed space that incorporates various textures, scents, and sounds to enrich the service dogs’ training. This innovative feature will not only enhance the dogs’ sensory development but also provide a calming and therapeutic environment for veterans and visitors. Complementing this garden will be an accessible pathway, ensuring that the park and training area can be navigated comfortably by individuals of all abilities.“This partnership reflects Leadership Rockwall’s commitment to serving our community by supporting organizations like Patriot PAWS that make a tangible difference in the lives of veterans,” said Shelbi Stofer, spokesperson for the Leadership Rockwall Class of 2025. “By building a sensory garden and accessible pathway, we aim to create a space that fosters healing, connection, and progress for both veterans and the incredible service dogs being trained to assist them.”
Patriot PAWS has long been a cornerstone of the Rockwall community, providing life-changing support to disabled veterans through the dedication and care of expertly trained service dogs. The organization’s mission aligns seamlessly with Leadership Rockwall’s goal to create impactful projects that strengthen community ties and uplift those in need.Work on the sensory garden and pathway is set to begin in late 2024, with plans to complete the project by Summer 2025. Leadership Rockwall Class of 2025 is actively seeking community involvement through donations, sponsorships, and volunteer opportunities to bring this vision to life.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support of Leadership Rockwall Class of 2025 in advancing our mission,” said Terri Stringer, Assistant Executive Director of Patriot PAWS. “This project will not only enhance our facilities but also inspire a deeper connection between our veterans and the community that values their service.”
