Rockwall, TX (February 3, 2025) – Caring for a family member or friend can be rewarding at times. Still, it can also change direction quickly when it is evident that the current living situation is no longer appropriate for the safety of your family member or friend and everyone’s peace of mind. Hard conversations must be had while respecting where they are in this journey and how cognizant they are to steer the decisions necessary for their future.
Once everyone agrees, the next set of daunting questions presents itself: Where is the best place for them? How much will it cost, and how will we pay? Will they receive the things they need? What is the complete list of things that are changing? How do I, as a caregiver, advocate for them now?
Join the free webinar on February 10th, presented by the WellMed Charitable Foundation, presented by Suzanna M. Sulfstede, LMSW. Suzanna has served as the Director of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program at The Senior Source and the Managing Local Ombudsman for the Dallas County program for nineteen years. Suzanna is widely recognized as an expert in this field and was previously appointed by the Governor to serve on a Nursing Facility Advisory Committee, which advised the Texas Health and Human Services Commission on issues related to nursing facilities and Medicaid-managed care. Suzanna advocates for the quality of life and care for the frail, elderly, and disabled residents in Dallas County nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
