Rockwall ISD announces two National Merit Finalists

Rockwall, TX (February 26, 2025) – Rockwall ISD is proud to recognize two students who have been named finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). This distinguished honor places Angela S. Williams from Rockwall High School and Savannah B. Crocker from Rockwall-Heath High School among approximately 15,000 finalists nationwide, selected from a competitive pool of 1.6 million students who entered the program by taking the PSAT/NMSQT.

These finalists have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence both in and outside the classroom. Their accomplishments extend beyond academics, reflecting their dedication to extracurricular activities, community service, and personal growth.

As finalists, they are now eligible to compete for 7,500 National Merit Scholarships totaling more than $30 million, sponsored by corporations, foundations, and institutions of higher education across the country. Students who are named National Merit Scholars will receive financial assistance to support their undergraduate studies at the college or university of their choice.

This achievement not only highlights their individual talents and dedication but also underscores the district’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and student success. Rockwall ISD congratulates these students on their remarkable accomplishments and looks forward to celebrating their continued achievements.
