ROCKWALL, TX (February 10, 2025) – This Valentine’s season, JustServe.org invites individuals, families, and community groups to share the love in a meaningful way by volunteering. JustServe.org is a free online platform that connects volunteers with local non-profit service projects, making it easy to find opportunities to give back.
As we celebrate love and kindness this February, JustServe.org is highlighting four new local service opportunities that need compassionate volunteers:
- Lone Star CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocate) Training – Become a voice for children who need you by training as a CASA advocate. Volunteers provide crucial support, ensuring that children in difficult situations have someone looking out for their best interests. The next Zoom session will be on Tuesday, February 11.
- Rockwall County Adult Literacy Program – Help local adults gain confidence and independence by assisting with tutoring for GED preparation, basic literacy, citizenship, and English as a second language. Volunteers help empower individuals to succeed in their personal and professional lives.
- Lasagna Love – A small act of kindness can go a long way. Volunteer chefs prepare homemade lasagnas for local families in need, spreading warmth and comfort one delicious meal at a time.
- WelcomeNST – Help a refugee family find refuge and support in your community. Volunteers can assist with welcoming families at the airport, mentorship, job training, language support, and household setup, ensuring these families feel safe, supported, and valued.
This Valentine’s season, we encourage everyone to step beyond chocolates and flowers and show love in a way that truly impacts lives. Whether you have an hour to spare or want to make an ongoing commitment, there’s a place for you to serve.
To find these opportunities and many more, visit www.JustServe.org, which is sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and sign up to make a difference. Together, we can turn love into action and strengthen our communities—one act of service at a time.
