Eric Stacey, HomeBank’s Chief Lending Officer, named YMCA Volunteer of the Year

Stacey has served on the Rockwall Y’s board of managers for two years

ROCKWALL, TX (April 21, 2025) – HomeBank Texas is excited to announce that HBTX Chief Lending Officer Eric Stacey has been named Volunteer of the Year for the J.E.R Chilton YMCA at Rockwall. While thousands of volunteers support the YMCA’s diverse programs annually, Eric was recognized among a distinguished few for his exceptional commitment, leadership, and lasting impact.

Eric received the Sam Winstead Volunteer of the Year Award during the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas’ 139th Annual Celebration held April 17 at the Frontiers of Flight Museum.

“Community and volunteerism are the cornerstones of the YMCA, forming the very essence of our nonprofit mission,” said Curt Hazelbaker, President & CEO, YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas. “Volunteers play a role in every event, program, and initiative we take on. We simply could not achieve what we do without them. Their dedication is essential to our work, and we are immensely thankful for their passionate commitment to making a difference in the communities we serve.”

Eric joined the Rockwall YMCA Board of Managers two years ago and has embraced leadership roles there, just as he has at HomeBank Texas. Not only has he served as co-chair of the non-profit organization’s annual campaign but is a tireless advocate for the entirety of the YMCA programs.

“Eric has brought a fresh energy and renewed spirit to our Board of Management,” said Harold Young, District Executive Director for the Rockwall YMCA. “His passion for service and unwavering dedication to our community are truly inspiring – and it’s exactly why he was named Volunteer of the Year. We’re incredibly fortunate to have him on our team.”

Eric spends many free hours at the YMCA providing his expertise – speaking up and showing up for youth sports, aquatics, Angel Camp for kids with special needs, the annual Teachers Prayer Breakfast, and more.

Recently, Eric shared his passion for the Rockwall YMCA Safety Around Water program, one of his personal favorites, which serves to prevent drowning. Adding most importantly how this program and others are made available to individuals regardless of their financial ability.
