Learn about programs that can support family caregivers as paid providers

Rockwall, TX (April 1, 2025) – Caregiving and the time and resources associated can escalate quickly and leave you with feelings of despair and stress. Especially if you are working and caregiving. You may find yourself pulled in multiple directions without the proper resources to do what is needed for both your job and your loved one. The stress of meeting everyone’s expectations is real. Fortunately, there are resources available.

Did you know that there are programs that will consider family members as a paid provider? Doni Green, Director of Aging Programs North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging since 1996 will lead a program to address this topic on April 14th. She will talk about federal and state programs, including Medicaid waivers, Community Attendant Services, and VA Aid and Attendance/Veteran Directed Care, that can pay family members. Doni has worked as a geriatric case manager at Parkland Hospital, and she created a senior membership program at St. Paul Medical Center before her role at NCTAA.

The caregiving journey can be made more manageable with the proper support. Meals on Wheels Senior Services of Rockwall County (MOWSS) is here to partner with you. We collaborate with the North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging to provide caregiver support, guide caregivers and seniors through all stages of life and preparation and offer a lifeline to relieve anxiety.
