ROCKWALL, TX (April 10, 2025) — The Rockwall County Democratic Party has officially passed a resolution in strong support of the Countywide Polling Place Program, also known as “vote centers,” reaffirming its commitment to ensuring accessible, secure, and efficient elections for all Texans.
The resolution, introduced by County Chair Susie Stansel and adopted on April 8, 2025, highlights the proven success of countywide voting in increasing voter turnout, reducing confusion, and optimizing election resources. Under this program, voters can cast their ballots at any polling location in their county on Election Day, rather than being restricted to a single assigned location.
“Voting should be simple, secure, and convenient,” said Chair Stansel. “Countywide voting centers empower voters and make democracy more accessible. Our resolution makes it clear that we oppose any attempt to roll back this important program.”
The resolution also opposes any legislative efforts aimed at eliminating the program, emphasizing that such measures would undermine progress in voter accessibility and election efficiency.
The Rockwall County Democratic Party encourages all state and local officials to recognize the benefits of the Countywide Polling Place Program and to support policies that strengthen, rather than restrict, voter access.
