Pup Culture: Dogs & their Dads

Pup Culture: Dogs & their Dads

Rockwall, TX (June 24, 2025) – This past Father’s Day, Blue Ribbon News invited the community to help us honor all kinds of fatherly love—including the kind that comes with tail wags and belly rubs! Here’s a round of a-paws to all the guys who throw tennis balls, share snacks under the table, and never say no to another walk—we’re talking about Dog Dads!

Dalin Crowsey & Sallie

Maya Crowsey shared this fierce photo of her husband Dalin with Sallie, their English bulldog. “Sallie is special to him because she’s the Marine Corps mascot,” Maya said. “She’s his best friend and loyal companion.”

Rick Johnson & Jaxon

Who doesn’t like to go for a ride?! Dianna Munro-Johnson shared this snapshot saying, “Jaxon goes everywhere with Rick, his best friend and Dad. Our 10-year-old Shih Tzu mix is a rescue who is a familiar face at many Rockwall drive-thrus – from the bank to the pharmacy to Starbucks – where he begs for treats.”

Stavros & his Pack

Stavros Kaplaneris is always leading the pack – whether at Cavender Nissan, in the community, at home with his queen Dorothy (she sent us this photo), or his canine crew!

Mark Hatley & Lucky

This dog dad may have rescued this baby boy he named Lucky, but says, “The truth is, the dog really rescues the family!” Looks like they are both lucky to have found each other!

Travis Duke & KD

Adina Duke submitted this fun photo of her husband Travis and his double-dooodle. “This was taken when Travis was battling cancer; KD kept his spirits and energy high. You can’t keep KD from having a ball in her mouth or out of the pool.”

Richard Redig & Bubbles

This feature wouldn’t be complete without BRN Media’s own Richard Redig and his rescue Lab, Bubbles. Richard throws the ball for her every evening and tucks her in every night. Bubs enjoys pup cups, belly rubs, and pushing pillows off the couch – but most of all, being with her daddy.
