Rockwall, TX (June 9, 2025) – Budget season opened for the county on Monday, beginning with the Sheriff’s Office and Detention Center. This year, the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget Workshops are open to the public.

What was the total amount of the FY 25 budget?
- $55,479,016.00
What were some highlights in the total FY 25 budget?
- A lower tax rate.
- The County Courthouse Annex building was funded through the American Rescue Plan Act.
- The County Courthouse 3rd Floor remodel was funded through the American Rescue Plan Act.
- County employees received a 5% raise.
- County elected officials received a 3% raise.
The County Budget Workshops are being held at the Historic Courthouse, located at 101 E. Rusk Street in Rockwall. The meeting includes a public comment period that is open to those who sign up before it begins.

Join us on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 9:00 a.m. in the Historic Courthouse, 101 E. Rusk Street, Rockwall, for the Commissioners Court regular meeting. There is a public comment period for those who sign up beforehand. The next meeting is Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
