“The YMCA recognizes the crucial role educators play in developing strong, healthy students and communities” says Rockwall Fire Chief Kenneth Cullins, JER Chilton YMCA board member and chairperson of the 2025 event. “The commitment they make to their profession compliments our mission, and we want to use this opportunity to express our gratitude with prayer and encouragement as they begin a new school year.”
This year’s scriptural theme, “I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10) was chosen for its reminder of God’s strength and provision. Everyone (students, faculty, and community members) can trust that God will hold them up when they feel they cannot stand on their own.

The catered breakfast includes a keynote presentation by Dr. John Villarreal, Superintendent Rockwall Independent School District.
For Dr. Villarreal the annual breakfast has become a tradition. “For me, the school year begins with the YMCA Teachers Prayer Breakfast — reminding us how deeply our community cares for our educators,” says Dr. Villarreal. “I appreciate the love and support that our teachers and schools receive from the Y. Prayer sets the tone for the school year. It is wonderful for our teachers and staff to feel that support and it is what makes Rockwall County such a special place.”

Breakfast also includes prize raffles from a variety of local businesses. Onsite childcare is available by reservation. More information and registration can be made online https://ymcadallas.org/events/teachers-prayer-breakfast-rockwall
