Brian Ortiz recognized as Rockwall’s J.E.R. Chilton YMCA Father of the Year

Rockwall, TX (July 10, 2025) – Each year, YMCA branches across the country recognize an outstanding “Father of the Year” and following numerous nominations, J.E.R. Chilton YMCA at Rockwall announces their recipient – Brian Ortiz!

“There are dads, and then there are goal dads,” says brother, Edward. “Brian is the the kind of father every kid deserves and every man aspires to be. What makes him so remarkable isn’t just what he’s accomplished, but how he’s done it with love, humility, and relentless dedication to his family and community.”

A proud father of two, Brian committed from their birth to be present physically, emotionally and intentionally. Being attentive to theĀ  “moments that matter” Brian engages with his children (and others) coaching t-ball, leading library programs, and taking his kids on adventures to explore the world and themselves. In every interaction, Brian models what it means to be active, engaged, and selfless – even while recovering from surgery!

But there is more to Brian than just being a great dad. He is a leader in the community, serving on local boards and volunteering his time. At home, he is a proven financial role model showing responsibility and focus, while laying a foundation for retirement through discipline and planning. However, what matters most to Brian is being the dad his kids will remember as always being there for them.

As Edward shared, “If Father of the Year means showing up, lifting others, and putting your family first in every way imaginable, then there is no more deserving man than my brother.”

Brian’s own core values align with the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility not only as a Father but also as an active community member and role model. Congratulations Brian for being a remarkable example for Fatherhood and for making a profound impact on the future.
