Friends of the Rockwall County Library Launches 2025–2026 Program Year with Community-Wide Membership Drive

Rockwall County (August 13, 2025) – The Friends of the Rockwall County Library is kicking off its 2025–2026 program year with a county-wide membership drive aimed at strengthening support for one of the community’s most vital resources—the Rockwall County Library.

The Friends of the Library is a nonprofit, volunteer-led organization dedicated to enhancing the Library’s programs, services, and spaces through fundraising, advocacy, and public engagement. Membership dues and donations help provide vital funding for children’s summer reading, technology upgrades, adult literacy and citizenship initiatives, and outreach to seniors through a partnership with Meals on Wheels that would not be possible through public funding alone.

“As Rockwall grows, so does the need for a strong and dynamic library,” said Lesli Johnson, President of the Friends of the Library. “By becoming a Friend, residents can make a direct impact on the lives of families, students, seniors, and lifelong learners in Rockwall County. There is always something GOOD happening at the library.”

The membership drive invites residents of all ages to join or renew their support at any level, starting at just $20. New and renewing members can access Friends-sponsored events, monthly newsletters, and opportunities to volunteer and advocate for the Library’s mission. Memberships received during this drive are valid through December 31, 2026.

The Friends are inviting everyone—longtime residents, newcomers, families, businesses, and civic groups—to “Be a Friend” this year and invest in the library’s continued success.
