Lorne Megyesi launches campaign for Rockwall County Commissioner, Precinct 4

Fate, TX (August 1, 2025) – Lorne Megyesi, former Mayor of Fate and longtime Rockwall County resident, has officially announced his candidacy for County Commissioner, Precinct 4. Widely respected for his servant-hearted leadership and commitment to preserving the county’s close-knit character, Megyesi is running to bring transparency, fiscal discipline, and thoughtful planning to the Commissioner’s Court.

“As our county grows, we need leadership that reflects our values—honesty, integrity, and transparency,” said Megyesi. “I’m committed to representing every corner of Precinct 4—from Fate and Royse City to Mobile City and our unincorporated communities—with fairness and accountability.”

Megyesi’s campaign is built on a foundation of conservative principles and community-driven priorities, including:

  • Strengthening public safety and improving infrastructure
  • Preserving open space and supporting local businesses
  • Promoting limited, efficient government rooted in conservative values

“I believe in a government that serves—not one that overreaches,” Megyesi added. “We must uphold fiscal responsibility, reduce unnecessary regulations, and champion our local businesses to build a thriving economy. Above all, I will work to protect the individual freedoms that make Rockwall County such a special place to live.”

Megyesi previously served as Mayor of Fate from 2014 to 2019, leading the city through a period of rapid growth while maintaining its hometown spirit. His regional leadership includes service on the Rockwall County Road Consortium, Emergency Services Corporation, and Open Space Alliance.
