United Against Crime: Rockwall First Responders invite residents to celebrate Texas Night Out

Rockwall, TX (August 14, 2025) – The City of Rockwall, the Rockwall Police Department, and Rockwall Fire Department invite residents to join their neighbors for Texas Night Out on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 6–8 p.m. This annual event encourages communities to turn on their porch lights, lock their doors, and spend the evening outside with friends and neighbors to take a stand against crime.

Neighborhoods across Rockwall are encouraged to host neighborhood gatherings and cookouts. This year, participants are encouraged to bring a canned food item to support the Helping Hands Food Pantry Drive. Rockwall First Responders will visit each registered community event, meeting residents and reinforcing the strong community partnerships that help keep Rockwall safe. Neighborhoods wishing to participate can sign up by contacting cbennett@rockwall.com.

National Night Out, “America’s Night Out Against Crime,” began in 1984. While most states celebrate in August, Texas moved the date to the first Tuesday in October to avoid the summer heat. Each year, hundreds of Rockwall residents take part, building neighborhood spirit and sending a clear message: Rockwall is united against crime.
