Rockwall, TX (September 9, 2025) – An unforgettable surprise took place at Dorothy Smith Pullen Elementary as one of our very own students, Chelsie Wood, was presented with tickets to the Super Bowl! The surprise, orchestrated by the American Heart Association in partnership with the NFL Foundation, recognized Chelsie for her commitment to heart health.

Last year, as a student at Celia Hays Elementary, Chelsie completed the Kids Heart Challenge. This program teaches students how to take care of their heart health, how to save a life with Hands-Only CPR and how to recognize the signs of a stroke. Children as young as nine years old can perform Hands-Only CPR effectively.
Chelsie decided to participate and raise money for the Kids Heart Challenge because of her dad, grandfather, and friend Ridge, who is also an American Heart Association Youth Ambassador, who all have heart conditions.

By completing the challenge and learning these vital skills, Chelsie was entered into a national drawing and was chosen as the winner of the Super Bowl tickets! This event highlights the importance of empowering our students with the knowledge to be heart-healthy and to potentially save a life. The funds raised through the Kids Heart Challenge also support the American Heart Association’s mission.
We are incredibly proud of Chelsie and all of our students!
