Rockwall, TX (October 21, 2025) – The Leadership Rockwall Class of 2026 launched its journey Oct. 3 with a high-energy, two-day retreat at Stony Ranch in Ponder, TX, led by Dick Hammond – better known as “Dizzy Dick”- of Leadership on the Move.
From the start, the 22 participants representing diverse industries dove into interactive challenges designed to spark trust, teamwork, and leadership growth. They navigated the Rope Knot to strengthen communication, worked together to conquer the Spider Web obstacle, and explored shared values that quickly built camaraderie.
The retreat blended hard work with plenty of laughter, with the sweetest takeaway being the bonds forged among classmates – connections that will fuel their impact throughout the year and beyond. Using personality assessments and the five key characteristics of effective leaders as a guide, participants discovered that stepping outside their comfort zones opened the door to stronger collaboration and bigger possibilities.
Leadership Rockwall, the flagship program of the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce, equips emerging leaders with the tools to succeed while deepening their impact in the community. The program combines in-depth issue seminars, skill-building workshops, and a community impact project to foster growth and service.
