Fate, TX (November 24, 2025) — The City of Fate announces that Chief Lyle Lombard, who has served as the City’s Chief of the Department of Public Safety for the past 7.5 years, is no longer with the organization effective November 21, 2025.
The City sincerely appreciates Chief Lombard’s years of service and his contributions to the Fate community. During his tenure, the City was recognized as one of the Top Ten Safest Cities in Texas, reflecting the dedication of the entire Public Safety team. We thank him for his commitment to the organization.
To ensure continuity of operations during this transition, the City has appointed Captain Ryan Ragan to oversee Police Operations and Captain John Taylor to oversee Fire services on an interim basis.
As this is a personnel matter, the City will not be providing additional details at this time.
