Ericka Ledferd thanks Rockwall County and encourages community members to run for local office

ROCKWALL, TX (November 18, 2025) — Ericka Ledferd expressed her sincere thanks to residents of Rockwall County who have reached out with concerns, questions, and interest in community leadership.

“I want to thank everyone who has approached me about running for county office,” Ledferd said. “Please know I hear you. I’m not dismissing your concerns. I have an exploratory committee reviewing how I might serve our precinct and the county best.”

Ledferd emphasized that community strength comes from many involved people, not just one.

“But I also want to say this to all my Rockwall County neighbors, Democrats, Independents, Republicans, anyone who cares about this place we call home, if you’ve ever thought about stepping up, now is the time.”

She noted that a broad slate of local leadership positions is on the ballot, creating opportunities across the county. Among these are County Judge (incumbent Frank New), County Commissioner, Precinct 2 (incumbent Dana Macalik), County Commissioner, Precinct 4 (incumbent John Stacy), various county offices, constables, and justices of the peace who serve our daily lives in the community.

“Precinct 1, Precinct 2, Precinct 3, Precinct 4, our whole county deserves strong, community-driven leadership,” Ledferd said. “Don’t wait for someone else. You’re qualified. You’re needed. If you want better representation, if you want change, run.”

Ledferd reminded residents that civic duty begins locally. “We vote for presidents and governors, but we also live here. We pay taxes here. We drive the roads, and send our kids to school here. Local offices affect our daily life, roads, safety, courts, and services. Your voice matters. Your leadership matters. This county will welcome you.” She concluded: “The more of us participate, the stronger we become. If you’re thinking about it, run. If you’re unsure, ask. If you believe in this community, this is your moment.”
