Jason Eddington announces candidacy for Texas Senate District 2

Lifelong Texan, Father, and Small-Business Owner Vows to Fight for Liberty, Put Texans First, and Take Back Austin from Big Developers and Elite Donors

Forney, TX (November 21, 2025) – Jason Eddington, a proud lifelong Texan, husband, father of three, and owner of Forney Pediatrics, officially launches his campaign for Texas State Senate District 2, with a clear message to younger voters and working families: it’s time to put everyday Texans ahead of Austin insiders, big developers, and out-of-touch elite donors.

“I’m not running to join the club in Austin; I’m running to break it up,” Eddington declared. “Our  government should not just work “For the People,” but it should be first and foremost “By The People.” Too many career politicians treat their elected positions like a private ATM for mega-donors and corporate developers, ignoring every day residents by paving over neighborhoods and jacking up our property taxes. I’m here to fight for liberty, fight for families, and make sure the next generation actually has a shot at the Texas Dream.”

Raised in the Lone Star State, Jason earned his MBA from Amberton University after having attended Texas A&M University; there he served as a member of the Corps of Cadets, the Texas A&M Century Singers, and met his wife Lauren. Together they own Forney Pediatrics, and have 3 children, 2 of which currently attend school in Forney ISD.

Jason has over 20 years experience serving as a healthcare administrator with a focus on process improvement, committing to delivering better outcomes for patients.

A man of deep faith, Jason serves on the worship team at Community Life Church and spends his free time studying history that has made Texas and America exceptional. “From Lexington to the Texas Frontier, from the Alamo to the beaches of Normandy, from the oil fields to the tech boom, history teaches us one truth,” Eddington said. “When regular people stand up, speak out, and fight back, liberty wins. That’s the spirit I’m bringing to Austin.”

Jason’s campaign is built on a bold, pro-Texas, pro-liberty agenda that puts people over special interests. His priorities:

•           Returning power to local communities by giving cities and counties more control over their future

•           Fighting for real term limits with local veto authority so career politicians can’t camp out in Austin forever

•           Creating a Summer Jobs Program that gets high-school juniors, seniors, and college students real-world experience and paychecks

•           Building a transparent Taxpayer Dashboard so every Texan can see exactly where their money goes

•           Slashing property taxes and stopping big developers from pricing young families out of homeownership

•           Establishing District 2 Policy Councils to help guide policy development; including mayors, faith leaders, parents, school leaders and young adults.

He places emphasis on the need for constituents to actually write the policies that affect their lives

“This isn’t politics as usual. This is a movement by the people, for the people,” Eddington said.

“Young Texans are getting crushed by skyrocketing costs, endless regulations, and a system rigged for the connected few. I’m running to smash that system and hand the reins back to you.”

Jason concluded his announcement with a direct appeal to the next generation: “If you’re tired of scrolling past another tax hike, another land grab by developers, another promise broken by Austin elites; then stand with me. Together we will take our state back, keep Texas free, and make it affordable again for the generations coming after us.”

“It would be the honor of my life to fight for you in the Texas Senate.”

Jason as an advocate for small businesses has received endorsements from several businesses through his membership in local business chambers. He has also received endorsements from Mayor Pro Tem/ City Council member place 1 – Ryan Finch of Sunnyvale, and City Council Member Place 1 – Codi Chinn of Fate. Other endorsements received to be announced later.
