Rockwall County, TX (November 26, 2025) – The weather cools and thoughts turn to family gatherings. While twinkling lights shine throughout neighborhoods, children make wish lists, and adults make shopping lists. Another holiday season is approaching; and as they have for many years prior, Rockwall County residents prepare to embrace their neighbors in a timeless tradition – the annual Christmas toy drive.
This year’s 2025 Annual Toy Drive is made possible through a strong partnership between Rockwall Toys for Tots and Helping Hands of Rockwall County. As of 2025 Rockwall Toys for Tots will assume the role as the official toy drive in Rockwall, with Helping Hands continuing the vital role as their primary distribution partner. While this year’s drive may look just a bit different, at its heart it remains the same – a community passionately rooted in caring for others!
One Team. One Mission.
For as far back as anyone can remember, Rockwall County has generously made holidays a little brighter for children in need with Helping Hands spearheading the initiative! Last year, the initial partnership with Toys for Tots and Helping Hands saw 2500 local children experience the magic of Christmas – a testament to the generosity of residents across the area. Now, the combined team seeks to serve even more families right here in Rockwall County this Christmas season.
It is important to note that while giving is the action, the Annual Toy Drive goes further than the latest Lego set or special doll, it fulfills childhood dreams and creates family memories of a magical Christmas morning. But more than toys are involved – even teens are supported! For families struggling to provide Christmas, too often teens miss out on those things that interest them but Helping Hands and Toys for Tots changes that by encouraging donations of gift cards specifically for ages 13-18.
Talking with Jeff Skinner, in his second year as Toys for Tots Coordinator, you begin to understand that this is a passion project. As a child, Jeff knew what it was like to do without and his heart feels called to ensure no Rockwall County children miss having a magical Christmas experience.
Saying, “Marines lead the way and set a standard” Jeff declares “I am just the conduit.”
Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Toys for Tots and Helping Hands launched this year’s campaign on October 22 with an inspiring event at The Harbor. Drawing a large crowd of supporters eager to kick off the season filling hearts, trees, and stockings with joy this Christmas.
The excitement continues with unique events throughout the season, where supporters can take part in a variety of fun, family-friendly gatherings, themed activities, drop off new unwrapped toys, and learn about the mission.
First Responders across the County are fully involved – accepting a challenge, the Battle of the Badges, to see which organization will collect the most gift cards. Last year’s winner, Heath Police and Fire Association, hopes to retain the title but faces fierce competition from Rockwall & Fate Police, Fire Department, EMT’s and Sheriff’s Department!
A revved-up crowd enjoyed the Cars & Coffee Toy Drive and Car Show held at Cavender Nissan on November 15, taking in a gleaming display of cars while donating new, unwrapped toys.
Next up, on Saturday, November 29 bring the family out for an exciting inaugural event – Turnbuckles & Toys, hosted by EPW Ephesians Pro Wrestling and the Rockwall Republican Men’s Club! This event, free with two new, unwrapped toys, brings six wrestling matches together for one great cause.
Finally, on December 11, the drive comes to memorable and moving conclusion with “A Very Galactic Christmas” celebration at Standard Service. This festive event includes photos with Santa, bounce houses, game stations, music, and tons of family fun to celebrate a great mission.
A Rockwall County Mission
Hard work and generosity all come together at the Helping Hands Distribution Day on Saturday, December 20! With the support of Helping Hands staff, volunteers, Veterans, our Rockwall USMC JROTC, and the Lake Ray Hubbard Young Marines, Rockwall County families in need have their moment – showing up to select that special gift.
Rockwall County has always stood as an example of gracious holiday spirit, unity, and community service. Through their support of Helping Hands and Toys for Tots, the mass of donations and uncountable hours of volunteer time deliver more than toys – they deliver joy and happiness on one magical morning.
