Rockwall County Helping Hands receives grant from the North Texas Food Bank

Rockwall, Texas (November 25, 2025)Rockwall County Helping Hands, Rockwall County’s main social services agency with a dedicated community food pantry, is deeply grateful to the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) for their generous grant award. This has enabled the purchase of a new walk-in freezer and the acquisition of essential supplies to further support our mission of alleviating hunger in our local community.

With the support of NTFB’s grant, we have significantly improved our ability to store perishable items, ensuring that we can continue to provide fresh and nutritious food to individuals and families in need. The new walk-in freezer has already proven invaluable in expanding our capacity to serve more people while maintaining the quality and safety of the food we provide.

“This grant represents more than just an essential piece of equipment; it’s a lifeline for our pantry and the families we serve,” said President/CEO Jon Bailey of Rockwall County Helping Hands. “The North Texas Food Bank  has been an invaluable partner in our efforts to fight hunger. With this new freezer, we can store more perishable goods, such as meat, dairy, and fresh produce, allowing us to offer a wider variety of food options to those in need.”

In addition to the walk-in freezer, grants from NTFB have also been used to purchase other critical items to enhance our pantry’s operations, including shelving, refrigerators, and food storage containers. These improvements will allow us to better organize and distribute food, increasing efficiency and reducing waste.

Thanks to the continued generosity of the North Texas Food Bank and other supporters, Helping Hands is able to meet the growing demand for food assistance, providing crucial support to those facing food insecurity.
