Rockwall, TX (December 12, 2025) – Beginning January 2026, the City of Rockwall will implement updates to its garbage, recycling, brush, and bulk collection provided through Republic Services. Residents are encouraged to visit the City’s website for full details, maps, and frequently asked questions.
What’s Changing:
Bulk & Brush Collection
- Starting January 1, 2026, the size limit for bulk and brush collection will be 6 cubic yards per pickup. This means that the final week for unlimited bulk is December 15 for Zone 1 and December 22 for Zone 2.
Garbage & Recycling Pickup Schedule
- Beginning January 12, 2026, garbage and recycling will be collected one time per week.
- Some residents will experience a new collection day, so it’s important to check the updated schedule online.
New Required Poly Carts
- Republic Services will deliver one garbage cart and one recycling cart to every residence. These carts are required for service and are included in your water bill, there is no separate charge.
- Delivery of the new carts will begin on the week of December 29 for current Monday/Thursday pick ups, and the week of January 5 for current Tuesday/Friday pick ups.
- If you are currently renting a Republic Services cart, simply leave it at your normal pick up spot that Monday and it will be picked up sometime that week.
