Rockwall’s J.E.R. Chilton YMCA Angel Tree Lights Up the Holidays for Local Families

Rockwall, TX (January 8, 2026) – The holiday spirit shined bright at Rockwall J.E.R. Chilton YMCA this past season, as the annual Angel Tree program wrapped up. For another year, this beloved program spread joy and warmth to families facing hardship, ensuring no children went without.

Contributions by YMCA members and staff make the difference – as anonymous donors step up to adopt “angels” from the tree and making wishes come true. Each angel tag represented a child’s wish ranging from necessities to sports equipment to video games and toys.

“It was heartwarming to see every wish fulfilled,” says Paula Peru, Program Coordinator. “And especially wonderful to see that every child who asked for a bike or scooter received one.”

This season, the Angel Tree directly benefitted twelve YMCA families and thirty-seven children, many of whom may not have had Christmas without the generosity of YMCA supporters. Thanks to their kindness, the program exceeded expectations! As parents arrived to pick up the gifts, they expressed overwhelming gratitude as the burden of another holiday was lifted.

On behalf of the recipient families, J.E.R. Chilton YMCA extends their deep appreciation to every donor who made this year’s Angel Tree possible. Your compassion speaks to the YMCA mission – and your support of this program and others like it brings a spark of joy to those in need across our community.
