Rockwall couple puts miles on the road for a monster of a mission

Rockwall, TX (February 23, 2026) – Twenty plus years of riding motorcycles together, Rockwall couple Brett “Iron Man” and Michelle “Turtle” Moore, discovered a cause to complement their passion.

Two years ago, they joined a cross-country fundraiser that spoke to their heart and love for the road. That fundraiser supported the mission of biker charity, Mile Monsters, and their goal to raise awareness and funds in support of children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), an incurable muscle wasting disease primarily affecting young boys most often finding them confined to wheelchairs.

The fundraiser challenged riders to find coins hidden across the United States, with clues released to them as they gathered donations and raced to be the first to find the coin – for bragging rights and more! In one challenge, the Moores took to the road for the 1200 miles from San Antonio to Lakeland, Florida to be the first to find and claim the coin – all in under 24 hours’ time!

From then on, they were hooked.

Revving up Hope

Founded in 2021 by long-distance biker, Jeff “Riot” Wyatt, Mile Monsters, Inc a 501(c)(3) organization rides for a cause and in this case, supports seven “heroes”, young men and boys affected by DMD.

Donations ensure these heroes’ wishes would come true. Whether receiving an off-road chair so they can experience the great outdoors, attending a safari camp to see exotic animals, or taking to the open road themselves, their hopes are fulfilled through a group of motorcycle enthusiasts turning a passion into purpose.

Revving up Funds

Following that first experience, the Moores jumped started their own fundraising! Today, they continue with two great opportunities for the community to get involved and help open doors for these seven heroes, including one from Texas.

With friend, Jon Dooley, Brett has officially committed to a challenge they call Mission 777 – walking or running seven miles a day, 7 days a week, in support of their seven heroes. https://m777challenge.com/

They also started a donation drive, with each $25 donation participants are entered into a drawing for a new Harley-Davidson Road Glide giveaway to be held on October 10, 2026. Givebutter.com/moores

Revving up Memories

The seven heroes are from locations around the United States and even Northern Ireland. Texan, Gaven “The Goat”, enjoys riding with the Mile Monsters. So much so that in 2023 granting his special wish – visiting every Harley-Davidson dealer in the State – Gaven accompanied five Mile Monsters on the road, with his parent’s trust and joyful permission, over eight days and four thousand miles!

It was a big project and added responsibility on the bikers, one they took on with great enthusiasm. Gaven’s story is so inspiring, Mile Monsters even made a movie about it! Grab a tissue and watch the movie that donations and commitment made possible https://www.goatstexastour.com/

Brett and Michelle have their own memories too. In meeting Gaven, they found him to have such a happy nature and a devilish sense of humor, despite the challenges he faces. Michelle says he is quite the daredevil too as she experienced firsthand speeding along in a Shriner car with Gaven at the wheel!

Revving up for More

Biking coast-to-coast, participating in triathlons, and after raising four boys of their own, the Moores have never been ones to back down from a challenge. Today, that extends to helping Gaven and others facing DMD meet their own challenges with hope!

In doing so, Iron Man and Turtle are finding not only excitement but a true sense of meaning.

You can share in the mission and help fulfill the wishes of these incredibly special and brave heroes. Donate to Mission 777 or jump in with a $25 donation to Mile Monsters and an opportunity to win your own Harley-Davidson. Maybe you will meet “Iron Man” and “Turtle” on the open road to share the passion and heartwarming purpose.
