Rockwall Police investigate disturbance call

Rockwall, TX (February 20, 2026)  – On February 20th, 2026, just after 12:00pm, the Rockwall Police Department responded to a disturbance call in the 1300 Block of Ridge Road. The investigation determined that a male subject had become emotionally disturbed after an argument with his spouse and fired a single shot from a shotgun in the parking lot. The area was immediately secured by responding officers and at the request of officers on scene, schools in the vicinity were placed into “secure” status out of an abundance of caution.

Dallas Police Department’s air support unit located the subject walking on the railroad tracks near the area and officers were able to quickly take him into custody without injury. The suspect was unarmed at the time of his arrest but the firearm he used was located near the original scene. The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital for a mental health evaluation and will be charged upon his release. No one was injured as a result of this incident and there was never a direct threat to either school. This case remains under investigation by the Rockwall Police Department.
