ROYSE CITY, TX (March 25, 2026) — The Royse City Police Department will host its “Cops and Bobbers” Kid Fish event on Saturday, April 18, inviting families out for a morning of fishing, community connection, and support for a meaningful cause.
The free event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the pond located by the Royse City Police Department, 1530 E. Highway 66. Open to children ages 4 to 14, participants will have the opportunity to compete for age division awards while fishing alongside members of RCPD.
The fishing competition will run from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with awards announced at 12:45 p.m.
Thanks to generous local sponsors, the event is free to all youth anglers, with proceeds benefiting Royse City ISD Special Olympics athletes. Funds raised will support local athletes and recognize their dedication and achievements throughout the year.
A limited amount of fishing equipment and bait will be available; however, participants are encouraged to bring their own rod and reel, bait, and a chair. No pre-registration is required.
Families are encouraged to come out, enjoy the day, and help support local RCISD Special Olympics athletes while building connections with Royse City police officers.
