Rockwall, TX (December 5, 2023) – The Rockwall Rotary recently spent time making stuffed animals for Rockwall County children.
Whether called a stuffy, plushie, or teddy, stuffed animals are an important part of childhood bringing warmth, comfort, and love. This event was specially arranged to make sure children would have that kind of special toy under the tree this Christmas.
The stuffing party, with Rockwall’s Teddy Bear Mobile, brought out a variety of stuff-able and loveable toys just for this occasion. The event seemed to bring out the child in the Rotarians as well – with some choosing toys that reminded them of their own childhood memories.
Rotarians stuffed each toy of their choosing. After fluffing the toys, members dressed each in a specially made Rotary t-shirt and tucked in a birth certificate making for a very special presentation.
According to Rotarian Nancy Parkes, who coordinated the event, 85 bears were donated to Helping Hands of Rockwall County and will be shared through the annual Toy Drive distribution on Saturday, December 9.
